Dear CAFES member organizations,

Please see the following invitation from CAFES member, the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society - Ottawa Valley Chapter (CPAWS-OV):

CPAWS-OV is pleased to invite you to participate in our very first National Capital Greenbelt Forum, taking place on Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 1:00–5:00 p.m. at the Canadian Museum of Nature in Ottawa.

This Forum launches our new campaign dedicated to ensuring that the National Capital Greenbelt is Protected, Connected, and Restored into the future. To make this initiative truly collaborative, we are bringing together a wide variety of local representatives (community associations, environmental organizations, and other key stakeholders) to share insights that will help shape stronger protections for the Greenbelt.

The afternoon will include:

Expert talks on conservation, planning, and stewardship
A keynote presentation by Dr. David Gordon (Queen’s University), an expert in the urban planning of Canada’s national capital region
Collaborative discussions exploring shared priorities and challenges
Presentation of five big ideas for the future management and protection of the Greenbelt, informed by the day’s conversations

Your participation will be invaluable as we work towards building a lasting, collaborative plan for a resilient and thriving Greenbelt.

Please confirm your organization's attendance (maximum of 2 representatives) by signing up through our Eventbrite page at the link below.

RSVP Here!

Feel free to contact us at greenbelt@cpaws.org if you have any questions.

We look forward to an in-depth discussion and to taking these first important steps together toward a protected, connected, and restored National Capital Greenbelt.
