CAFES Joint Caucus on Green Resilience - June 11th

CAFES will be holding a special Joint Caucus meeting on Wednesday, June 11th from 12-2pm via Zoom.

This Joint Caucus will bring together members of the Climate, Waste and Circular Economy, and Trees and Greenspace Caucuses, and we will be meeting to discuss the City's Engage Ottawa campaign for a Green and Resilient City. The purpose of the campaign is to undertake a review of city services that contribute to creating a greener, more resilience city while focusing on efficiency and cost savings.

Members of the public will be able to go online to Engage Ottawa and submit their comments and ideas. Visit the link here to check out the campaign page and submit comments. Please note that you will have to create or login to your Engage Ottawa account to submit comments for this particular campaign.

Not sure what ideas to submit? Come to our caucus meeting first, where we will be presenting our draft recommendations document. Our recommendations touch on city services related to green infrastructure, tree canopy and greenspaces, waste, density, emissions reporting, climate resilience, public transit, environmental stewardship and equity. Please feel free to read over this document in advance of the Caucus, and bring your ideas to the table - we will be having an open group discussion.

At the Joint Caucus we will also be reviewing any staff documents released ahead of the June 17th Environment and Climate Change Committee meeting.
