There are only a few days left in 2025, and we’re reaching out with the invitation to support CAFES’ work in the year ahead — and to help us reach our NEW $20,000 fundraising goal by December 31st. We are thrilled that we can now match donations dollar-for-dollar up to $10,000!
This year, your support helped CAFES accomplish so much:
- Delegations and public advocacy that contributed to the release of Ottawa’s first GHG inventory report in four years
- Strong submissions on zoning, tree protections, and climate resiliency
- Dozens of community workshops, tree events, Climate Fresk sessions, neighbourhood climate dialogues, and public education forums
- Continued leadership within the People’s Official Plan network
- Monthly climate news on CKCU 93.1FM and expanded community climate communications
- Stronger collaboration across Ottawa’s neighbourhoods through our caucuses and member organizations
In 2026 — a municipal election year — CAFES will:
- Support nonpartisan public education and election engagement
- Host community events, forums, and neighbourhood climate sessions
- Expand Trees & Greenspace initiatives and community-driven climate programming
- Strengthen climate literacy workshops on heat pumps, resiliency, invasive species, and more
- Continue responding to key municipal climate discussions, ensuring residents stay informed and can take action
- Sustain our staff team so this work remains consistent, reliable, and effective
