Come Rally for Kebaowek First Nation - Oct 8th

The Algonquin Anishinabeg Kebaowek First Nation (KFN) is currently fighting in court against the construction of a seven-story nuclear dump which could pollute the Ottawa River with radioactive and hazardous waste. Their next court hearing will be Wednesday, October 8th at the Court of Appeal at 90 Sparks Street in Ottawa.

Allies are invited to join the rally in front of the court building from 12-2 pm on October 8th to show solidarity with the KFN and raise awareness of the risks the nuclear dump poses to the river, endangered species, public health, and Indigenous rights.

In February 2025, KFN successfully argued that the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) failed to uphold its duty to consult in a manner consistent with the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP). Canadian Nuclear Laboratories is now appealing this decision in court.

Come to the rally to show your support for Indigenous sovereignty and a healthy, liveable environment for all!
